Beautiful Cedar Hill!

Here are some photos of the goings-on at the TOS Spring Birding Weekend in Cedar Hill.
TOS Merchandise Specialist, Sara Bettencourt, peddling our new t-shirts and caps at the Traphene Hickman Public Library on April 24.
This beautiful library relies on natural light, with windows wrapping around the meeting room.
Dr. Bert Frenz had his newest publication for sale -- and autographing!
Planning Committee Chair Christine Turnbull kept us in stitches.
Sam Kieschnick of TPWD taught us some bird signs in ASL. We loved the owl sign!
The 77 Ranch is run with an eye to environmental protection.
On April 25, TOS President Romey Swanson (right) awarded Texas Century Club pins to (from left) Karen Carpenter, Sara Bettencourt, Eric Faria, Lisa Edwards and Christian Walker. Congratulations!
A TOS grant recipient, Baiyinah Abdullah, was a guest on Friday evening at our panel discussion. Romey surprised her when he told her that we approved her grant request. She gave an eloquent description of her proposed research on the historical impact of lead pollution on birds.
The Burgundy Beef Ranch is another environmentally-conscious ranch in Hill County.
Luxurious transport on the Burgundy Ranch! Chris Steinke, chauffeur.
Byron Stone was an award recipient on Saturday at our banquet in the Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center. He received the Charles McNeese Award for significant contributions to the success of TOS. Well deserved!
Keynote speaker Liza Gonzalez of Audubon Texas shared some important (concerning!) statistics about the birds we love.
Thanks to all who attended, helped plan, led trips, and assisted with the details of this fun trip to Cedar Hill, a Texas Bird City!
