Return to Panama in 2024

Click HERE to see the trip report from Susan Foster and HERE to read about the experience from a participant.

Original description
TOS conducted a birding trip for its members to Panama with leader Susan Foster from August 26 - September 4, 2024.

Our group will be accompanied each day by Canopy Family resident birding expert Carlos Bethancourt or another resident expert birding guide provided by Canopy Family. As our trip description says, the birding is great, people are friendly, the country is safe, infrastructure is good, food is excellent, driving distances are short, and currency is based on the US dollar. International travelers can safely and confidently drink the water as well.

Enjoy coffee each morning on the upper deck of the Canopy Tower watching neotropical migrant warblers and tropical resident species in treetops, and the monkeys coming to visit the fruit feeders placed for the tanagers, orioles and other frugivores. Then head out on a daily adventure to pump up your life list and mingle with some of the nicest folks -- your fellow TOS members!

For a more personal experience, we limit our trip to a maximum of 13 people, and you can see a full description of the trip with complete itinerary HERE.

ou must have a US passport valid for at least 6 months after date of entry, will be required to sign a liability waiver, and will be required to purchase emergency medical travel insurance before final payment is accepted. Participants must also be able to climb three flights of stairs for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
